about

On December 2, 2006 (my birthday, and my good friend and Sagittarius Soul Bro, Uncle Dom’s birthday), I was in the right place at the right time, recording seven songs with The J Place Band:
J Place - vocals, harmonica, guitar / Kit Otto - guitar, backing vocals / Joe Micarelli (Dom’s big brother) - keys, backing vocals /
Brian Rost - bass / Shuffle King, Domenic Micarelli - drums.

Additional musicians: Bob Paluccio - congas: (right place, wrong time)
Nicole Nelson - backing vocals: (you don't miss your water)
Gordon Beadle - baritone & tenor saxophones: (little queen o' spades)
Scott Aruda - trumpet: (little queen o' spades)

Everything seemed right on this day, as we laid down tracks onto a vintage 2” 24 track analog tape machine at Rik Tinory’s studio in my hometown.

Rik’s basement studio is now the oldest single family-owned old school recording studio in America, ever since the legendary Sam Phillips of the renown SUN Studios in Memphis, TN, passed on.

History has been made at Rik’s place, where many ghosts linger. Susan Tedeschi’s debut album was recorded there, and Aerosmith did a lot of work there for the 'Pump' album.
I sang lead vocals through a vintage Neuman microphone, embossed with Steven Tyler’s mark of a Chikita Banana sticker!

Recorded By Rik Tinory at Rik Tinory's studio, Cohasset, MA.
Mixed by Fred Danner at Courtland Studio in Hanson, MA.
Mastered by Jonathon Wiener at M Works in Cambridge, MA.
Photography & graphic design by Laurie Borden.

This SEVEN Song CD was originally released on 7/7/07.
It is now being released digitally on Bandcamp/CD Baby on 7/7/21.
